yest dinner with piak and serene was good! was happy once again because it was TGIF finally! :) we went to this korean restaurant at liang seah street, and the food (BBQ chicken) reminded me of arirang and worijip (carn rmb the spelling though) in UIUC! and just so happened that there's a restaurant called arirang opp from where we were eating. nice catching up with them, talking abt how sch life in NBS had been for the past sem, how our internship had been and also talked a little about odac stuff. after tt dessert from 记得吃 was awesome! we were feeling pretty full, so only ordered mango sago! i'm def going back to that place for more dessert! and i realised how happening bugis had become, there's this new shopping area and i finally went there! pretty cool and new!lots of nice eating places like cheeky chocs!(thot there's only one along thomson street) plus new movie theatres. we explored arnd before heading home.
imagine my surprise when i finally got home and found out mummy went to stay at my aunt's place, because apparently she almost fainted at home and they thot it would be better for her to go there n stay since there are more pple to take care of her.i feel so useless about being not able to do sth for her, and esp so when i'm almost going back home late every day and not arnd at home. so decided not to go for 食字路口with jc class today, felt pretty bad cuz i was really looking forward to that. but i reckon i would still be able to meet them next week for 2 of the guys bday party. oh wells. then went to visit mummy, hope she gets well sooN!
work is getting better, though it got off to a slow start in the beginning of the week. realised i had to better manage time and do some work at home first before going to work. or else i wouldn't be able to hit my quota and stuff like tt. i realised i learnt pretty lots of stuff, like now i know some technical terms from diff industry, like i got to know IT stuff, HR stuff better. wat's the role of a system analyst and software developer, some of the IT skills commonly found such as Java, C++; wat's a full HR spectrum, wat's a HR generalist etc. and now i know what's important in one's career, wat are the things employers look for in potential employees..and i got to interview my candidates now, talking to them is quite an experience. though they r not exactly banking-related, i'm glad that i learnt some stuff though :) hope work will get even better next week! and i need to walk arnd more, feeling very stiff from just sitting there :X
