post spring break reflection
[ 2:08 PM ]
its 1.04am here in usa, have abt 10 more pages to go before i can go to bed. have been staring at this strategic management book for at least 3 hrs alr ahha, and have yet to finish. wat a slow reader i am! maybe my year end resolution shld be to be a faster n more focused reader!
anyway, just came back from my spring break! woots~ it's the most enjoyable one week break i ever had. totally diff from those one week breaks i had in sg, where usually i spent it finishing work, revising, catching up on some rest, meeting friends etc. we travelled to newyork city, boston and washington dc. photos have alr been uploaded on facebook!
i love newyorkcity, because its a pretty city, with lots of things to do, see, eat and visit. but everyone there always seem to be in a hurry, its so hard to stop and snatch a shot of sth. i did things i wanted to, catch a broadway (chicago! ironically not in chicago), saw statue of liberty, walked along brooklyn bridge, visited magnolia bakery, times square, ate krispy kremes, nice curry chicken in chinatown, awesome yogurt in greenwich village etc. the only things i din get to do is to hitch a ride on limousine and watch wicked!! i will wanna watch wicked before i go back sg! the next time i go back newyork, i wanna go greenwich village and little italy, these places have their own unique feelings :)
i love boston, because its totally opp of newyork. it has a slower pace of life, more relaxing, the people look more intellectual n there's this literary sense of atmosphere. prob because there's boston uni, harvard, MIT there. and we stayed in one of the more comfortable and better hotels in this trip. we went to eat nice food at quincy market, their well-known lobsters at chinatown with dickson, mike's pastries etc. yummy! freedom trail was not bad, i fell in love with their architecture there. i wan to live in such houses!
i love washington, cuz there wasn't much to do except monuments and monuments. haha. no la, i enjoyed quite a bit, especially at the capitol building i tink. learnt alot abt presidential history, would have been better if i had better sleep the night before (we slept on the bus). other than tt, we walked alot until my legs were aching!! and there wasn't proper food arnd! except hotdogs, pretzels, ice cream etc. :S pitiful. but we made it up by going chinatown! i had noodles with duckmeat. i tink i hadn't eaten duck meat for ages ahha.
overall, we had a rather budget trip, we not as atas as the rest. haha. but the 4 girls, we had lots of fun, and we r glad we decided to embark on this journey together. we got to know each other better, had laugter and shared funny moments. too eventful liao.
lik how i was so innocently almost kana cheated by people in boston, who kept coming to us begging for money for transportation.
like how our hotel fire alarm sounded at 8am in the morning, n we had to make our way down in our pyjamas. luckily we stayed at the 2nd floor. luckily there wasn't a fire.
like how we tried to queue two times for wicked lottery ticket, and me n joanne, kana found out by the guy. was so embarrassed. and his comments became the quote of the day! super hilarious everytime jias n hongli used tt on us. hai.
like how our plane back to chicago from pittsburg almost touched down (or it did so for 2 secs) before flying off again. i was looking out of the window all the time n i was like ?!huh?!.
memorable events. but back to reality!! readings to do, exams coming. shyte! haha.
bring me back to newyork please.
bring me back to boston.
