my trip to american embassy!
[ 6:17 PM ]
first trip to the american embassy in tanglin,a 5 min drive from redhill only. and realised there r so many other embassies arnd. it would be terrifying to stay arnd tt area, since the likelihood of being bombed is really HIGH. but well, that explains the stringent security measures they have in place.
reached the place at 8.30am, half an hour ahead of my appt time. i saw at least 2 security officers there plus one soldier carrying rifle or sth. no parking is allowed. so i was ushered or shown to this seating area, where i quietly wait for my turn. after a while, they direct us to this security counter where we have to show proof of our appt and go thru security checks, such as my handphone & ear plug was confiscated temporarily (meaning no contact with the outside world for the time i'm inside the embassy), and i have to test drink my bottle of water to prove that it is actually water. haha.
after tt, i walked my way to the room to get a queue number, and alas, the doors were freaking heavy! it was like made of tons of steel or sth. i have to push super hard to make my way in. so u bet there will be no terrorist or rat which will be willing or able to go into such a place. so i waited for my interview, and there were quite a number of people before me, given that its only abt 9am in the morning! well, the man who interviewed me was pretty nice, asked me questions abt which uni am i going etc., and he kindly approved my visa too! yeah! still have to go back again on wed/thurs to collect my passport.
carn wait for my usa trip! counting down...
