woohoo. i was reading "who moved my cheese?" sometime ago. its a pretty inspirational book. here r some of the things i have learnt from it:
1) we resist changing because we were afraid of change. Sometimes, we are just so used to our own comfort that we fail to notice small changes. So when a major change happened and took us by surprise, all we will do is to mourn and complain and blame everyone except urself. instead, we should move on, and gladly embrace the change that has occurred. 2) the more important your cheese is to you, the more you want to hold onto it. There are certain things we value n treasure more than the others. That's why when we lose them, we tend to feel more pain, but what we should all realise is that the pain will slowly fade away, as i always believe that, time will heal all wounds n losses. 3) if you do not change, you can become extinct. Time and tide will not wait for u to change and adapt to the new environment/ situation. You gotta do it by yourself. Or else, eventually you will lose out.4) movement in a new direction helps u find new cheese. experience is not everything; sometimes we need to learn to take risks and try out new routes. Who knows whether you will succeed not?5) when you move beyond ur fear, you feel free. Conquer your fear, and everything's going to be alright. Be optimistic and strong.6) imagining myself enjoying new cheese, even before i find it, leads me to it. Paint a vision of what you going to do, and eventually you know you can do it.7) the quicker u let go of old cheese, the sooner u find new cheese. There's no point in blatantly hanging onto something which you know will come to nothing in the end. Let it go, take a step back, n u will see a clearer picture. then you are at a state where you can better make decisions.8) wat would u do if u weren't afraid? Have you ever wondered what you would do if you weren't that afraid? maybe u would have done sth different at that time right? most of the time, we are so overcome by our fear and apprehension that we failed to move on. ok, now i shall proceed on to read harry potter. :) hope my week will get better too!
